When the power goes out, prepare to sleep

Ever since Hurricane Sandy hit about four days ago, I've been wondering: do other people feel like when a storm hits, everything-homework, paperwork for your job, other daily activities and responsibilities-gets put on hold?
Of course, though, if you're one of those people with super awesome seeing abilities, I guess the whole "work gets put on hold" doesn't exactly apply to you. But for the rest of us normal human beings, it gets really hard to get anything done. In fact, all of my time during the storm was spent sleeping, so you can imagine why I wasn't able to get a good night's sleep and STAY asleep during the night.
But enough of my complaining. If possible, something good did come out of the power outages-you really have no choice but to hang out with your family. But it's not like this hurricane was the only way I had contact and time to spend with my family. In general, being together has never really been an issue for us. We have dinner together every night, do stuff on the weekends, and have family time together every evening.
Some kids might say that sucks and sounds horrible, but in reality, I like it. And Hurricane Sandy only brought us closer together. It sounds weird, I know, but it's true! I just can't help but feel like even though huge storms have about fifty minuses, there's at least one good thing.
